Over a century ago when Avant began working in Latin America there were few followers of Christ. Today, through discipleship and church planting efforts, Latin Americans have not only heard and responded to the gospel, but they are growing in their conviction to take the gospel to unreached places. Many churches desire to send missionaries, but fewer than 1% of local churches in Latin America have been able to do so on their own. Avant Español exists to fill this gap.

Avant Español offers an effective process in accompanying churches in training their missionaries to go and be effective church planters to the least reached. This initiative allows Latin Americans to join Avant and receive missionary training, supervision, accountability, and member care completely in Spanish.

What is unique about Avant Español is that we simultaneously walk with the local church to facilitate their growth in becoming a sending body, while also working with their missionaries. We know of no other agency that works this closely with the sending churches while also providing full service for their missionaries in Spanish.

We hope to make this initiative financially self-sustaining in five years, but until then, we have created a project to support the training and development of these Latin American churches and missionaries.
