Project #12403

Echoing God's glory in southeast Alaska through Christian camping and church partnership

In 2019, I went on my first mission trip. It was with a twelve person team to Echo Ranch Bible Camp in Alaska to assist with camp projects for a week. I knew very little about Echo Ranch or what mission work really involved. Our project for the week was the horse barn renovations. It was a lot of work but very rewarding. By the end of the week I was already thinking about coming back to do more for the camp.

Over the next 3 years I went on to do four more mission trips to Echo Ranch. It was in June of 2022 that I really felt like God had given me a calling to do mission work. In September of that same year I returned by myself to really learn more about becoming a missionary. It was during a presentation given during a pastor's retreat that week that it all came together for me. We are all apart of the body of Christ and using my skills in maintenance was a way I could contribute with this ministry. By making sure that people get a hot shower, the lights work, and the kitchen functions, people will be able to better focus on the message of God's gift of salvation and be less distracted.

In March 2023, I made the decision to step out in faith and join Echo Ranch for an entire summer. In May of 2023 I finalized the sale of my house, left my job, and sold/gave away the majority of my belongings. I moved to Juneau with a few suitcases and started at camp on June 7th. My role at camp is not exclusively doing just maintenance. I also get to mentor, disciple, assist other staff members, and help fill in wherever there is a need. I joined Avant Ministries in January 2024, eager to use the gifts God has given me for full-time ministry. Would you prayerfully consider financially partnering with me so I can focus on full-time ministry?
