Ministry Description
This important support ministry provides a quality education for the children and allows their parents to serve with confidence, recognizing
that their children are receiving an excellent education. Flexibility and
willingness to help in a variety of school-related areas is necessary in order offer a well-rounded education. Most of the students are highly
motivated and provide a unique challenge for the teacher.
Positions Available
Teachers for both elementary and secondary levels as well as various support staff.
Skills and Qualifications
- A desire to minister to the children of missionaries as well as a minority of international students.
- A bachelor's degree is required and a master's degree is recommended for teaching positions.
- Teacher certification is a necessity.
- Preferably two years of teaching experience at level to be taught.
Language
Teaching is done in English but a working knowledge of Spanish is indispensable for relating to the host country and ministering to Ecuadorians. If long-term service is desired, than one year of language study is required.
Experience and Training Needed
Avant requires education or training appropriate for the specific ministry in which the candidate will be engaged. For those serving longer than six months, completion of the Avant Candidate Orientation Program is also required. It is expected that applicants will have demonstrated their abilities in Christian service prior to application. A good working knowledge of the Bible is required for all personnel.
