Ministry Description
The host and/or hostess of the Hebron Seminary Guest House will providing hospitality for teams from North America, missionaries and national believers. With the assistance of a full-time housekeeper, the host/hostess will ensure grounds and buildings are maintained at a high standard of cleanliness. The host/hostess will also work with the head of campus maintenance to make sure buildings and grounds are kept in good working condition. Applicants should enjoy interacting with and serving others, have good administrative and financial stewardship skills, and basic practical housekeeping skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Take Reservations
- Work with a national housekeeper to maintain rooms and grounds clean and neat, maintain and upgrade room furnishings as needed and make purchases of necessary items
- Work in conjunction with the Head of Campus Maintenance to make sure maintenance needs are tended to in a timely fashion
- Work with the Seminary Administrator to coordinate all activities and ensure financial solvency
- Do simple bookkeeping to keep track of income and expenditures
- Provide breakfast items for guests
Skills and Qualifications
- A desire to serve others with a friendly disposition
- Basic housekeeping skills (cleaning, sewing, baking)
- The ability to delegate work and serve alongside national believers
- The willingness to be flexible, for example: sometimes waking up very early or
staying up until late in order to assist guests who arrive at various hours due to air or bus travel
- Basic bookkeeping skills
Language
Moderate level Spanish proficiency
Experience and Training Needed
Avant requires education or
training appropriate for the specific ministry in which the candidate
will be engaged. For those serving longer than six months, completion
of the Avant Candidate Orientation Program is also required. It is
expected that applicants will have demonstrated their abilities in
Christian service prior to application. A good working knowledge of
the Bible is required for all personnel.
