Ministry Description
Working with young people from Southeast Alaska, in their community environment with the intent to follow-up with the camp experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Working within a community with the intent of coming alongside of current outreaches to plug camp kids into some local church or discipleship program for accountability outside of camp
- Plug into a current ministry if one already exists, otherwise provide a platform for kids to be encouraged or challenged by the Word of God
- Assist the local coordinator (if one exists)in camp promotion and enabling kids to come to camp through different means (i.e. scholarships, chaperones, fund raisers, etc.)
Skills and Qualifications
- Be willing to spearhead different programs if none exist
- Be outgoing and willing to reach out to the young people of your community
- Be college-aged or older
Experience and Training Needed
Avant requires education or training appropriate for the specific ministry in which the candidate will be engaged. For those serving longer than six months, completion of the Avant Candidate Orientation Program is also required. It is expected that applicants will have demonstrated their abilities in Christian service prior to application. A good working knowledge of the Bible is required for all personnel.
