Ministry Description
As the Health Manager of camp, the main responsibility will be overseeing the medical department.  Associated with this is providing the appropriate medical needs of campers and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee medical department staff
• Making the necessary community contacts for emergency medical care
• With your staff, rotating through a schedule of camper care and follow-up
• Review all health history forms and camper registrations
• Train all staff in CPR and First Aid
• In order to stay current with your licensing, work in the local hospital during winter months 

• Must hold a current Alaska Nursing License
• Must be current in BCLS
• Malpractice insurance required

Experience and Training Needed
Avant requires education or training appropriate for the specific ministry in which the candidate will be engaged.  For those serving longer than six months, completion of the Avant Candidate Orientation Program is also required.  It is expected that applicants will have demonstrated their abilities in Christian service prior to application.  A good working knowledge of the Bible is required for all personnel.
