• Central Rome walking tour (Trevi Fountain, Bernini’s Fountain, Navona Square, Pantheon, Spanish Steps)
• Return to hotel for dinner and overnight

DAY 3
Friday March 28
ROME / VATICAN CITY

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Vatican City (Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Square and Basilica)
• Ancient Appian Way (Domine Quo Vadis, Catacombs of San Sebastian)
• Basilica of St. Paul
• Dinner at hotel and overnight

DAY 4
Saturday March 29
ROME / FLORENCE

• Ancient Rome (Roman Forum, Mamertine Prison, the Coliseum, St. Peter in Chains with the Michelangelo’s Moses)
• Early churches (San John Lateran, Holy Cross of Jerusalem)
• Trastevere
• Travel to Florence for dinner and overnight

DAY 5
Sunday March 30
FLORENCE

• Worship with the Vigna Vechhia Church, an evangelical church in Florence
• Sites of evangelical interest in Florence
• Accademia Gallery (Michelangelo’s sculpture, David)
• Outdoor Market of San Lorenzo
• Ponte Vecchio, (an artisan from medieval times)
• Return to hotel for dinner and overnight

DAY 6
Monday March 31
FLORENCE / PISA / GENOVA

• Guided tour of Florence (Medieval streets, craftsmen’s workshops, Renaissance palaces)
• Renaissance art (Michelangelo, Da Vinci and Botticelli)
• Religious essense of Florence (Baptistry of St. John, Duomo, Medici Chapel, Church of St. Lorenzo, Piazza della Signoria, Basilica of Santa Croce)
• Travel to Pisa
• Leaning Tower of Pisa
• Travel to Genoa to meet the Avant Short-Cycle Church Planting Team
• Hotel check-in for dinner and overnight

DAY 7
Tuesday April 1
GENOA

• Experience Short-Cycle Church Planting in action
• Explanation of the philosophy behind Short-Cycle and a presentation by the team about the innovative strategy it is using to plant a new church quickly. 
• City tour of Genoa
• Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight

DAY 8
Wednesday April 2
GENOVA / MODENA / BOLOGNA

• Travel to Modena to meet Avant missionaries
• Visit Avant’s Modena bookstore and publishing house 
  
• Meet with Avant's first missionary to Italy
  
• Travel to Bologna to meet Avant missionaries
• See the Avant New Hope Church plant 
  
• Bologna city tour
• Hotel check-in for dinner and overnight

DAY 9
Thursday April 3
BOLOGNA / VENICE

• Travel to Venice immediately following breakfast
• Guided tour of Venice (San Marco’s Church and Square, Doges’ Palace Bridge of Sighs, Rialto bridge)
• Leisure time for gondola rides, shopping, casual walks 
• Dinner and overnight at hotel in Venice

DAY 10
Friday April 4
VENICE / TREVISO / VENICE

• Explore the romance and beauty of Venice 
• Travel to Treviso to meet Avant missionaries
• Learn about Avant’s ministry in Treviso
• Return to Venice for dinner and overnight

DAY 11
Saturday April 5
VENICE / MILAN / CHICAGO

• Depart Venice airport for flight to Milan
• Depart Milan airport for Chicago O’Hare
