Ministry Description
In Modena a new outreach center has been purchased in a highly visible area.  We will be offering various services to make this an effective place of ministry, "Not Just Books" (Non Solo Libri). English classes have already begun. Services will include internet access, family issues classes, technology classes, and Bible Studies.  The goal is to become a contact point for searching non-believers in Modena, build relationships and share the gospel with them. We are committed to a team ministry; therefore a commitment to work together with others of different backgrounds is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

• 75% of ministry time will be spent preparing and teaching students and classes in English as a second language.
• 25% of ministry time will be spent participating in the local church, evangelistic outreach, and church planting activities.
• Responsibilities include doing an effective job of teaching, ultimately establishing   relationships with the students, sharing one's faith in Jesus Christ during teaching and outside of the classroom, on a personal level.
• There are limited materials and curriculum; therefore, the volunteer may need to provide supplemental items.

• Must have TEFL certification or equivalent experience.

Experience and Training Needed
Avant requires education or training appropriate for the specific ministry in which the candidate will be engaged.  For those serving longer than six months, completion of the Avant Candidate Orientation Program is also required.  It is expected that applicants will have demonstrated their abilities in Christian service prior to application.  A good working knowledge of the Bible is required for all personnel.
