Ministry Description
The church planter of a cell church will work as part of a team of North Americans and possibly Latin Americans to raise up
dynamic, biblically sound local churches that reproduce themselves.
The goal is to participate in the raising up of a movement of churches that will
expand consistently in order to continue planting churches in Guadalajara, the state of Jalisco, and other major cities in Mexico as well as cities outside of Mexico.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in evangelism and discipleship
- Provide leadership and supervision of cell ministry
- Develop local church leadership
Skills and Qualifications
- Significant Bible training is a must for this position.
- Coursework in the area of mission strategies, cultural anthropology, and cross-cultural communications would be very helpful.
- A solid foundation in evangelism and discipleship is important.
- Previous experience in local church setting would be very beneficial, especially in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, and teaching.
- Any experience working with small groups or cell groups would be extremely valuable.
Language
Effective ministry in the cell church in Mexico requires fluency in Spanish.
Language training will need to be completed prior to leaving for the field.
Experience and Training Needed
Avant requires education or training appropriate for the specific ministry in which the candidate will be engaged. For those serving longer than six months, completion of the Avant Candidate Orientation Program is also required. It is expected that applicants will have demonstrated their abilities in Christian service prior to application. A good working knowledge of the Bible is required for all personnel.
