Ministry Description
The guest house hosts people from various mission organizations who come to Bamako for rest and renewal, shopping and business.The guest houseis located close to the old downtown area and it is within walking distance of a number of markets and strip malls and shops.

Duties and Responsibilities
Guest house management includes:

• Booking guests
• Bookkeeping
• Shopping for supplies
• Supervising the cleaning and maintenance of the rooms

Skills and Qualifications

• People skills—enjoy people and like to be around them
• It is helpful to be able toknow how to use a hammer, screwdriver, electric drill, and be able to do a little plumbing and electrical maintenance.  The Guest house revenue pays for a fulltime worker who cleans and does laundry. He comes 5 days a week and takes care of most of those tasks.

Language
French and Bambara are helpful, but not required.

Experience and Training Needed
Avant requires education or training appropriate for the specific ministry in which the candidate will be engaged.  For those serving longer than six months, completion of the Avant Candidate Orientation Program is also required.  It is expected that applicants will have demonstrated their abilities in Christian service prior to application.  A good working knowledge of the Bible is required for all personnel.
